Of all the anime introduced in Spring 2012, there is one that has been maligned constantly as being “disappointing”. Medaka Box is being dropped by fansubbers and anime bloggers left and right for being too boring, too fanservice-y, or having a main character that is an unlikable Mary Sue. Writing took a massive boost since I STARTED A POP CULTURE BLOG. Anime has slowed down because it’s the middle of the cours again. Not much on the book or movie front

Scandal (S1, 7 hours) I thought Revenge would be the best new show I saw this season. I WAS WRONG. Scandal starts off with a kick in the ass and ends with minds being blown. Episode 6 literally had me yelling out “OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD!” I’m not even kidding I actually yelled at the TV. This series completely blew my mind. Best show of the year. And it is so DARK. Completed 05/30/2012

Glee (S3, 22 hours) Pretty sure this is the last season of Glee for me. The show has gone from being a parody of high school melodrama to being a high school melodrama. Ryan Murphy has gone from telling stories to pushing an agenda and it’s getting really effing stupid. The honeymoon is over. If you bring back Finn and Rachel and everyone else, I quit. People have to move on with their lives. Also, IDGAF what you do or don’t believe in. But cramming your lack of faith down my throat is just as annoying as someone cramming a bible down yours. Just saying. Completed 05/23/2012

Eureka (S4, 21 hours) This show is pretty ballsy. There are few shows that will take the risk of completely changing everything in one fell swoop, but they did it. It’s not the first time everything has changed in Eureka, but it’s definitely is the most unilateral. I’m sad that S5 is going to be the last, especially considering that they weren’t expecting this to end.  completed 05/27/2012

I already wrote on the things Pokémon needs to do for the next incarnations of the series, but that’s just the bare minimum. If it were up to me, I would do a complete overhaul on the franchise. Satoshi Tajiri said that Pokémon Adventures ”… is the comic that most resembles the world I was trying to convey.” Based on ideas seen in that, ideas seen in the anime, and some thoughts I’ve had on my own, I’ve made a list of features that would be great to see in the games, but probably never will no matter how great they would be.
